just take out the sending unit & pick-up assembly out of the top of the fuel tank & unsnap the old float & snap in the NEW float-& YES they sell JUST the floats,BUTT they DON"T want 2 because they don't make as much money-they LIKE 2 sell the WHOLE assembly-BUTT U have 2 find a PARTS Person that knows whats going on.
BE VERY CAREFUL when working around the gas tank-- it ONLY TAKES ONE little spark & U will B HISTORY.(I saw the result of a mechanic who used an electric pump 2 drain the fuel tank) & NO his wife had NO insurance.
