How do you change an inproper fraction into a proper fraction?

Answer:
An improper fraction is what I call a 'top-heavy' fraction. If the fraction is 38/6, the top is too big and you have to fix it so that it's not all top heavy. The way you do that, is that the big number is divided by the little number. So, how many times does 6 go into 38? 6 (6x6=36). BUT you have a remainder of 2 (38-36=2). So far you have the whole number 6 and your remainder of 2/6. But 2/6 can be reduced to 1/3. So the answer is 6 and 1/3.
