Okay, you're probably referring to the newer low-end strat-copy models Fender is currently producing. If you have an original Starcaster, then it surprises me that you don't know how to change a string. Anyway, as with any Stratocaster, you hold the string where the ball-end is facing down. There should be a backplate with six holes in the lower part of it. Each hole represents where a string will sit on the top of the bridge (located directly above the backplate.) Look at the bridge. There will be six "saddles" that hold the string in place. On each saddle, there are to screws with which, you can adjust "action" (string height)with an Allen wrench or hex key. You put the string through the backplate, guide it through, so that it will come through the saddle and bring the string up the neck. There will be a "nut" at the top of the neck which is cut to let a certain gauge string sit in it (I use nines or ".009 to .042" for my strat). Let the respective sized string sit in the groove of the nut, and bring it toward the machine head (tuner). Fender headstocks are famous for having six inline machine heads, so if you are starting with the top string, you will put it through the shaft of the farthest machine head. And the lowest E string will be placed in the closest machine head, etc. I always wrap each string twice around the shaft of the machine head twice before putting it through. Tighten the string by turning the machine head to the right or left, depending on which head you're turning. Tune it to whatever tuning you like. If you're a beginning guitarist, probably standard tuning. eBGDAE Use a chromatic tuner if you haven't had experience with other instruments.

Restringing depends on the model. But generally:

1. cut off the old string (replace one string at a time) & remove both ends of it.

2. Select the proper gauge (thickness) string.

A good starting guide is.

(1 Hi E) .010 - (2 B) .013 - (3 G) .017 - (4 D) .024 - (5 A) .034 - (6 Lo E) 046

3. Thread the ball end of the string through the bridge (body-end) the same way the other strings are threaded (on many Guitars the string goes in through the back of the body).

4. Wind the string around the tuning post 1 or 2 times (make sure to wind it in the correct direction so that when you turn the tuner to the right - the string gets tight)

5. THE TRICKY PART - don't tie a knot, just push the end through the hole on the post and pull the other side backwards around the post and under the string. The string will hold itself in place as you tighten it. Search for this on YouTube to see good video tutorials.

6. If you've done it right, the string will be very tight, and have 2 - 5 winds around the post. When it's solid... trim the string close to the post. If the string slips, return to step 4.

EXTRA CREDIT - How to keep your strings in tune. After you put on a new string: # Tune it to the correct pitch then,

# pull up on the middle of the new string a few times to pull it out of tune.

# Retune to the correct pitch.

# Repeat this step 3-5 times to pull out all the slack from the string.

This will keep your strings in tune for a very long time on a good instrument.

REminder: NEVER leave your guitar in a hot car, or in direct sunlight.

There is a casing on the back of the guitar you need to unscrew that and there will be six little holes that you put the strings through and it will run them to the front and the you run the strings across the neck and then tune them

------

The holes in the bridge block should line up with the access hole(s) in the tremolo cover. If the tremolo bridge spring tension is properly adjusted there is no need to remove the tremolo cover. There should be appox. 1/8" clearance between the underside of the bridge and the body of the guitar. Do not tighten/loosen the bridge spring claw screws. Instead, add/remove springs to obtain proper bridge clearance, and the tremolo cover access hole(s) and the holes in the bridge block will align. Replace 1 string at a time and the string tension will keep the bridge block aligned with the access holes in the tremolo cover.

every guitar bridge is different these days but slide it up the neck once its in the bridge proper than twist them. as long as their in the right tuning you shouldn't have a problem.

Answer

Get the right type, use the fitting on the end of the old string, the string thickness and it's position on the guitar as a guide when buying the new one. Using the other strings as a guide, fit the string to the bottom bridge first. Draw the string along the neck and feed it through the hole/slot in the appropriate machine head. Pull the string tight then back it up 2 inches. That 2 inches of slack should give you about 3 turns which is the minimum to stop string slip. The thicker strings may need up to 21/2 inches to make 3 turns.

Keeping some back tension in the string with one hand, wind the machine head in the same direction as the others to tighten the string. The completed first turn should 'trap' the loose end of the string, following turns should lie neatly up the peg and not cross each other. Make sure the string is sitting in the right grooves on the top and bottom bridges as you wind. Bring the string up close to pitch, wait 5 minutes for the string to stretch out then tune the whole guitar. Clip the end of the string off close to the peg. If you are just changing one string from an old set, the new string will have a sound much brighter and louder than the others and almost impossible to balance out.

To change strings on a Fender Acoustic Guitar, locate the machine post for the string and wind it down. When the string is loose, pull it off the head of the guitar, and the bridge of the guitar. Whichever string is missing, grab the corresponding string from a packet of new strings, and feed it through the bridge. The string should also be fed through the hole in the machine post. Once you tighten the string, you can return it to its natural note, and complete the whole process again for the remaining strings.

Can you use ernie ball guitar stringsheavy in the bottomskinny in the topon a fender starcaster?

It's possible...SRV used "13"s on his Strat, meaning his little "E" string was a 13 instead of a 9 or 10, like most guitarists use. He also tuned his guitar down a half step to an Eb, instead of the standard E tuning.

Which guitar was made first 12 string 6 string or bass 4 string?

The six string guitar has a history spanning back to the 17th Century as an ancestor of the modern classical guitar. The electric six string guitar was a concept that was initially developed by the jazz musician Les Paul (real name Lester Paulfus) in the 1930's. The idea was the topic of discussion between him and his friends Leo Fender and Paul Bigsby. The first production electric guitar was the Broadcaster by Fender in 1951.The Precision Bass was also first taken into production in 1951, having been based on the much larger upright bass. In the case of the bass guitar the electric version was first, followed by the acoustic.
