How do you change tapered or boot cut jeans into flares that start just above the ankle?

In: Sewing

Answer

Slit both seams (rip them out)roughly six inches up each side. Cut two triangular pieces of fabric (matching or contrasting, as is up to you)per leg and insert, folding folded part of original seam over inset and stitching and matching the inseam with the inset and stitching. Hand stitch point.
