it all depends on the belt your changing.
The alternator, water pump, an i think power steering all connect to one belt on the drives side of the block. you cut or take the old one off then work like hell fittin the new one over the three. timing belt you have to pull the block. an a/c belt goes with water pump pulley on the inside of it
