If the buttons on a 3 button digital wrist watch are corroded then it is almost impossible to change the date and time without having the watch fixed.
Above the zoom in and out buttons, there is a button that has a play button in a box on it, simply click that and change pictures with the arrow buttons.
You click on the buttons beside the middle button. Click both of them at the same time and the buttons will show you how to change time, dates and your birthday.

Push in the trip odometer button and hold down. The digital display will change from KM to MPH. You may have to hold the button down for about 15 seconds.
Press the CLK Button and use the tuner buttons, not the knobs
Press the set button then within 10 seconds push the seek and scan buttons to change the time.
If it's the one like I have, there are 4 buttons on the outer portion of the face. The bottom Right button controls the digital time. Compress and hold, the seconds feature should blink...press the top right button to change time. You can fast forward the setting if you hold down that top right button. To get to minutes, hour, day and month just keep pressing the bottom right button, and alternately press the top right button to change the quantity of seconds, minutes, hours, etc. Hope this helps. I was looking for an answer to this and just figured it out myself. :)
