How do you change the distributor cap on a 1983 Buick Roadmaster when you need pin 1?

[Edit]

Answer

Best way to change the Cap is to follow all the plug wires back from their cylinders and mark the plug wires with the correct cylinder number. Then remove the old cap "With the plug wires still attached". Only pull the plug wires off the plugs and not the cap. The Cap is "Keyed" so it will only go on one way. Install the new cap and reference the "Key" (usually a small tab at the base of the cap that fits into a small slot on the distributor body. Visually line these tabs up from the old to the new cap and pull off one plug wire at a time and install it into the new cap and then to it's spark plug.

Your question has an error in it, there was no Roadmaster in 1983. Do you mean 1993? What do you mean by "pin 1?"
