Here is a step by step instruction to replace the filter on your car:

1) You will need a screwdriver. Set the wipers in the upright position. Open the hood. Dismantle the cover's right hand clips. Remove the clip on the corner tab to the windscreen corner.

2) Loosen the rear main seal halfway. Lift it off of the foam block and lift up the front edge of the cover so that the hood and the clip release on the rear edge. Fold back the corner tab. Fold up the cover half way.

3) Fold up the clips from the filter holder. Remove the cabin air filter. Lift up the drainage hose and clean it. Fit the drainage hose and insert a new cabin air filter. The new filter should be fitted with the arrows directed in toward the car.

4) Fold back the holder clips and fold down the cover. Fit the corner tab under the windshield molding. Insert the hook under the windscreen and press down the cover so that the clips lock. Fit the clip to the corner tab to the windshield corner. Lift up the foam block and fit the clip. FIt the rear main seal, then check the operation of the wipers and close the hood.

The filter is at the front of the engine block, accessible from above or below. After draining the oil from the sump simply unscrew the filter. If it's tight, clean it and try gripping it with rubber gloves. If it's really tight use a filter removal tool or puncture the filter and turn it with a screwdriver.

You need to remove the lower sound deadening/aero pieces with a T27 Torx driver. Locate the filter housing. Remove the drain cap (small end piece) from the filter housing, and use a small screwdiver to gently push the orange rubber stopper up and to the side to drain the filter. You need a 36mm socket to remove the filter housing. Once the housing is removed, simply pull the old filter element out of the housing and replace it with the new one. Also, replace the gasket around the rim of the housing and re-install. Make sure to move the orange rubber stopper back into position before filling the car with oil.

The air filter is very easy to change. Remove the cover from the air filter housing. The air filter will lift out. Drop the new air filter in and replace the cover to its original position.
