How do you change the front head lights on a VW Beetle?

Open the hood and look at the side of the headlamp mounting assembly under the hood. On the side is a hooked lever (a finger fits in the curved part). Rotate the lever to release the headlamp assembly and pull it out the front of the fender. Replace the bulb from the back of the assembly. You might have to pull hard, as it has conductive grease on it to help hold it in place. After the buld is replaced, push assembly back into fender and rotate lever the oppostie way to lock the assembly back in place.
