I wrestled with this one a long time, even got a ticket by a cop for the light being out. In the end, I found the answer on this sight. You remove the plastic cover from INSIDE the car kneeling on the backseat. It comes off easy with a good pull. The bulb pops out easy as well and is easily purchaseable at any Strauss Auto type chain. Just check the number of the bulb in your manual or on the bulb itself.

I think that Camry disk brakes were very similar from 1990 to at least 1996, and I answered the question on changing brake pads for my 1995 Camry, so maybe that will help.
To change the brake pads on a 2006 Toyota Camry the car must be safely propped up. Remove the wheels and loosen the calipers. Slide the brake pads out and replace with the new parts. Repeat the process for all four wheels.
You normally gain access to the bulb from inside the trunk.
Pop the cover off by pulling at the corners away from the window, pull the tabs on the light shield, and replace the bulb with a 912 light bulb.
Check the answer I gave for "how do I change taillight for an '02 Camry ?". The procedure is the same. Not sure of bulb type, might be a 921, but don't quote me on that.
It can be a sticky caliper or you need to change brake pads.
A Toyota Camry built in 1998 takes DOT 3 brake fluid. This is the standard brake fluid for passenger cars.
bulbs toyotaAnswerto fix the Camry brake light--first try to change the bulb--this is usually accessed through the trunk--usually requiring a Phillips screwdriver-any parts store has the bulb...take the bulb with you to the parts store
change the fuse if not replace flasher
I believe you need 17 mm box wrench for that.
Remove the tail light from the outside. Pulls out. Replace bulb. There is no access from the inside of the trunk.
