How do you change the oil on your 2001 yamaha raptor 660? |
[Edit] |
There is a small bolt in the bottom of the oil tank that is directly in front of the exhaust pipes where they come out of the motor. I cut the top out of an old oil container to use as an offset funnel to drain the oil to the side. Remove the plug and drain all the oil out of the tank. Replace the plug. Remove the large plug in the underside of the engine and drain the engine. Replace the plug. Put 2 quarts in the oil fill on the oil tank and replace the fill plug. Start the engine, and let it run for 30 seconds. Shut the engine off and add 1 more quart of oil to the tank. To check the oil run the engine for 2 minutes before using the dipstick in the tank to check.
