I need to replace one on my 99 Dakota to. Its 4wd and I am not going to even attemt it its going to the garage.
My suggestion would be to take the motor out, remove the oil pan, then change it. Before you change it though fill a cup up with poil and get some oil in the pumpm so you don't have a dry start. Then put the pan on, don't forget the gasket, and put the motor back in the truck
