I have a 2001 Grand Prix GTP and there are two belts to replace. The serpentine belt and the supercharger belt. If you are replacing one, then you should replace them both. Only Tools you should need are a socket wrench with a 15mm socket and a 10mm socket and a pair of needle-nosed pliers (also the socket to remove your negative battery cable). The posts for the battery are right there, so I recommend taking off the negative battery cable first so you don't short your socket wrench across the battery. First you have to remove the supercharger belt. Take the wrench and the 15mm socket and put them on the 15mm nut in the middle of the tensioner for this belt (see the sticker by the radiator cap). This nut is normal threaded so set the socket wrench to tighten. When you try to tighten this bolt the spring should start to release allowing you to take this belt off. Remove belt. Now you need to remove the serpentine belt since it is inside of the supercharger belt. The nut for the tensioner on this belt is reverse threaded so set your socket wrench to loosen. In order to get the socket wrench on this nut you need to remove the coolant reservoir for more clearance. Remove the two 10mm nuts at the top of the tank. There is a tubing fastener on the front of the tank that hold the tubing away from the belts that will need to be taken off with the needle-nosed pliers. Once these three items are removed pull the tank straight up and lay it on top of the motor being careful not to spill coolant. You should now have plenty of clearance to get to the tensioner bolt. Release tension on this belt in similar fashion, but in loosen direction. Install new serpentine belt, replace the coolant tank, then install new supercharger belt. Double check that all belts are centered on all pulleys prior to starting engine. Reattach battery cable and start engine.
