I have a 2000 Venture, so my answer is based on that. From everything I know, 2000 & 2001 are the same for wipers.
I usually turn the wipers on, let them "open" to the outside edges of the windshield, and then turn the accessory (ignition) switch to off. By turning off the accessory switch the blades will stop at the outer edges, making wiper replacement simple.
