It can be quite hard to feel a baby's pulse but the best place is the brachial artery which is located on the inside of the arm just above the elbow (Where the elbow crease is) and it is usually found on the opposite side to the thumb. The best way is to use two fingers (not your own thumb as that has a pulse of its own) and just keep feeling around that area until you find it. It is also easier to feel if you can keep the baby's arm straight.
You check a baby's brachial pulse. This is the main artery that runs in the upper arm and past the elbow. This can be found by placing two fingers slightly above the crease of the elbow and finding the pulse.
Hold your arm as though it was in a sling, cradle the 'pig in that arm and gently slide the thermometer under its' rear leg so that it nestles between its thigh and belly. If the 'pig is reasonably used to be handled, that should work fine.
Put your pointer and middle finger on the inside of the leg. That is where you can FIND the pulse.
you should take guinea pigs to the vet if you get them ANYWHERE. You should only take them though if youd like to check them out and make sure they are healthey, nuetor them, or check their gender.
