Put your hamster in another container such as a good solid small box with AIR HOLES (punch small holes in top of box BEFORE putting the hamster in it. Then take out all the old cedar chips and clean cage well. Clean water dish and feeder well, dry and refill with water and food; put fresh cedar chips back in and the bedding the hamster has made. Then put your hamster back in. Do this quickly so you don't leave the hamster in the box too long.
