Cats spend many hours licking their coats. Their tongue supposedly has backwards-facing spines about 50 micrometres long, that is called papillae.
These spines allow cats to too groom themselves by licking their fur. With their rows of papillae acting like it was a hairbrush.
Some cats end up having hairballs of fur that is collected in their stomachs from their grooming. These clumps of fur are mostly sausage shaped and about, like, 2-3 centimetres long.

∙ 12y agoI would recommend to soak a washcloth in warm water and gently stroke the kitten with the washcloth
If you are to wash the head, be careful because kittens are very sensitive around their eyes and nose
If you are using shampoo , don't use to much or you will irritate their skin

∙ 13y agoit depends how old it is. if is a newborn dont tuch the eyes. if a older cat take a tissue with water and clean his eye. let one help hold the cat
