It really depends on what you are trying to clean from your cork flooring. For a more detailed answer, tailored to your specific needs, you can email me at rickydoesfloors@Yahoo.com. Please include the specifics. If you don't want to do that, generally, use a mild soapy water, but don't get it too wet. Do not saturate and do not scrub real hard, you'll just ruin your floor much more than your bothersome stain. Be careful when using chemicals, especially if you don't know what the floor was installed with. More on this:

There are a number of products available which are meant to clean wood or hard surface flooring. BonaKemi (www.bonakemi.com) makes excellent cleaning products for flooring. The method of cleaning here would be to lightly mist the cleaner onto an area of your floor, then follow-up with a microfiber mop. With any wood floor (cork included) you must avoid using excessive amounts of moisture as this can ruin your floor. Lightly damp mopping after vacuuming about once a week will keep your floor in great shape. Make sure that you do not use the beater bar on a vacuum, but a regular bristle ended attachment will suffice. Another in home way to clean floors is by using a vinegar solution. You will want to mix 1/2 cup of white vinegar with 1 gallon of water. Then use the same method as other cleaners, lightly mist over small areas and follow up with a microfiber mop. This is a good solution if you run out of cleaner, but the quantity you need to make to ensure to solution is right and storage can be a pain - so I prefer to suggest Bona's products over this in-home mixture.

Is it recommended to have cork flooring in your house?

Cork flooring is durable while providing some "cushion" that typical wood flooring lacks. It is hypoallergenic, resilient and attractive. The one major drawback is the cork's tendency to "dent" under heavy furniture, but this can easily be solved with furniture "coasters".
