Vinyl floors are commonly used in bathrooms and kitchen and they can increase the beauty of your home by several notches only if maintained properly. It is a popular choice for many homeowners as it is extremely durable. A quick sweep and mop can easily clean up all your dirt and dust but it is not enough if you want to regain that new look for your rooms.

Deep cleaning takes a little elbow grease but you can easily eliminate the stains and scuffs with a few simple and easily available products like -

• Broom or vacuum cleaner

• Microfiber cloth

• Baking Soda

• Putty knife

• Rags

• Commercial vinegar or cleaner

• Dish soap

• Bucket

• Water

• Microfiber mop

Start by sweeping or vacuuming your vinyl floors. Then you are ready for removing scuffs and then it is easy with a microfiber cloth and all you need to do will be just slightly damper a microfiber cloth in water and buff the scuff away. Now after eliminating the scuff marks, there still can be some tough stains of paint or gum which may seem impossible to remove. Use a knife to scrape up the gum or paint gently. Now for stains like ketchup, juice stains, ink, and others you can use baking soda. With a soft rag, apply the baking soda paste which can be made by water and baking soda, and then simply rubs gently until the stains disappear. Finally, mop the floor with a microfiber cloth and voila! Your floors will sparkle with a shiny look just like it had before.

Why do you wax a vinyl floor?

Most of the vinyl floors that are sold currently are called "No Wax Vinyl Floors" this means that the top coating is manufactured so that when you use the floor cleaner suggested it will look as it did when installed- the flooring industry..(like computers) are constantly changing and becoming more user friendly/easy care- Vinyl floors that are not called No wax- need to be stripped and cleaned- then liquid wax applied to give it that wet look-shiny- then normal household traffic will dull the floor- once again having to clean/strip and re-apply wax- to give it shine and slight protection- The manufactures suggestions- The no wax floors now just require a simple mop and no rinse solution- (like mop and glo)- but you should always follow the manufacturers suggestions for care and cleaning of your vinyl flooring- house hold cleaners that are bought at the grocery store like pine sol etc- will ruin the floor and yellow over time- Always use vinyl cleaning products from the manufacturers like Armstrong-Mannington and Congoleum-these types of cleaners will make the floor look great and will look good for a long time- vinly floors need to be cleaned/stripped and polish reapplied for beauty-

How can you get rid of black fungus -under the vinly liner in an inground swimming pool?

Some types of bacteria and fungus found in the soil can actually penetrate through a vinyl liner and cause stains to appear on the liner. Usually they will start off as spotted or cloud-like formations on the liner. Algaecides used in the pool water have little if any effect on the stains caused from bacteria, since it doesn't get to the source of the bacteria in the soil. If a pool is known to have a problem with bacteria staining the liner, the ground underneath the liner may be treated with a solution of one half household chlorine bleach and one half water. Mix the bleach in the water and mist the floor of the pool with a small garden sprayer three or four times prior to dropping the new liner in the pool. After the last application of bleach solution, wait several hours before dropping the liner; making sure the solution has been absorbed into the ground.
