Ka-Boom works great for keeping a toilet clean! It may not last for three months as stated on the product's box, but it is worth using for as long as it is effective because you will never have to pick up a toilet brush during that time! According the Linda Cobb, the author of Talking Dirty with the Queen of Clean, a toilet can be kept clean by putting several spoonfuls of Tang Breakfast Drink (safe for pets) in the toilet water, let it soak overnight, then swish a toilet brush around and under the rim followed by flushing the toilet. She adds that Tang and lemon Kool-Aid are an inexpensive way to remove rust. Once a month put one or the other in the toilet, soak for an hour, brush and flush. For stains, she recommends to pour 1 cup vinegar over the stain, sprinkle 1 cup borax over the vinegar, soak 2 hours, then brush, and flush.
