That can be dangerous if you are not careful. Also, it is not good to remove all of the wax from the ear canal because you need the wax. Also, it is very not good to scratch the ear canal, which will happen even with careful use of a q tip, because then you will get an infection. Just keep the outer ear clean and let water drip out of the ear. If the wax buildup gets too large, see an otolaryngologist.
