You have two options.

1) Use the adapter to keep your door chimes and warning sounds.

2) Don't use an adapter, and lose all your factory sounds and chimes.

Where is the door chime located on a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier?

The "door chime" is actually integrated into the factory stereo system. If you have upraded your stereo, you loose the chime. And you thought engineers were smart :). Crutchfield sells a wiring harness to tget the chime back... it;s about $80 though.

Where is the Relay location for door chime on 2003 grand am?

As far as I know the car's computer signals the radio to produce the chime. I noticed that when i installed an aftermarket stereo, the chimes all disappeared. This isn't a huge problem, you just have to make sure that you don't forget to turn off your lights. If you want to get rid of it, you could install an aftermarket stereo. not the best solution, i know.

How do you disable the door chime on a 2001 F250?

It should be located under the dashboard. usually behind the center console (heater controls, stereo etc...) You should be able to just pull out the wire that is fitted into it. But be careful. The same chime is used to let you know if you've left your headlights on, or your keys in the ignition.

Can the stock stereo be replaced in a 2000 Chevy Cavalier without keeping the old stereo In other words do any of the dingers or dash lights run through the radio on a 2000 cavalier?

You do not need to keep your radio like it has been previously stated many times before (like in the trunk). Crutchfield.com offers a "GM Class II Data bus Interface" - it lets you install an aftermarket receiver in late model GM vehicles without losing the door chime and audible safety warnings but is not compatible with Bose or Monsoon systems. Just go to Crutchfield.com and on the left there is a search bar. Enter "Metra VT-GMRC-02" or you can just go here - http://www.crutchfield.com/S-THOIyqrmdKC/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g120GMRC02&search=door+chime (its about 80 bucks) Good Luck! ==Mistaglock wrote== i replaced the car stereo with a aftermarket car stereo without any special part "the part is like 80 dollars". i just hardwired it and it dont turn off unless you power it off manually "the car sends a special signal to the car stereo to notify it that the car has been turned off.
