You have two options.
1) Use the adapter to keep your door chimes and warning sounds.
2) Don't use an adapter, and lose all your factory sounds and chimes.

The "door chime" is actually integrated into the factory stereo system. If you have upraded your stereo, you loose the chime. And you thought engineers were smart :). Crutchfield sells a wiring harness to tget the chime back... it;s about $80 though.

This isn't a huge problem, you just have to make sure that you don't forget to turn off your lights. You do not need to keep your radio like it has been previously stated many times before (like in the trunk).
