How do you connect an ipod to a mac computer? In: Apple and Mac |
Macintosh computers are my second most favorite computer (although I don't really use them). In order to install an IPOD on a mac, you should have received an installation cd that came with your IPOD. If so, simply insert it into the cd tray, and wait 5 - 10 seconds for the auto installation to start. This installer will have user friendly buttons that you can click (the theory is "yes", "ok", "I agree", "continue" ... be positive here!) in order to see the installation through to the finish. No worries if you don't have the installation CD, you can find an installation file on the (via mac's website probably) that can be downloaded for free. Just use a search engine to search "ipod model" + "installer" (or) "driver installation" to find it.
Of course, an IPOD doesn't do much on your screaming fast and easy to use Mac unless you have Itunes (which is Macintosh's premier software for managing your music with the Apple Itune's online music store). Be sure to grab this free download from Mac's website as well.
As for hardware... you should have received a *data* cable to be able to connect your IPOD to your Mac via a USB port (rectangular). The presto comes into play by automatically detecting the device once it's plugged in, and then setting the device as another hard drive on your computer.
