Answer:
amps X volts / 1000 = Kva (for a single-phase system).

Kva stands for Kilo-volt-amperes, and the Kilo- prefix means thousands.

Also, Kva X Power Factor = Kw

Example:

120 volt, single-phase load drawing 10 amperes with a power factor of 0.8 (80%) draws how many Kva and how many Kw?

120 X 10 / 1000 = 1.2 Kva

1.2 X 0.8 = 0.96 Kw
