How do you convert a number from scientific notation to standard form?

Answer:

You move the decimal point to the right, as many digits as the exponent states, filling out with zeroes if necessary. If the exponent is negative, you move the decimal point to the left.

Example: 1 light-year has about 9.5 x 10¹² kilometers. Moving the decimal point 12 digits to the right, you get: 9,500,000,000,000 kilometers.
