How do you convert percentages to a common fractions?

Answer:

1%=1/100

so for example

56%=56/100=23/50=0.56

Converting to decimals is always easier. Just move the decimal point 2 places to the left.

1%=.001

so for example

83.7%=0.837

238.67%=2.3867
1) Remove the percent sign.
2) Put the number as a numerator over the denominator 100.
3) Simplify.
