How do you convince a mentally handicapped wife you are not cheating or betraying her once she's positive you are?

The thing is with anyone who thinks you are cheating, mentally handicapped or not, if they have it stuck in their minds that you are doing something that you are not, then you muct realise they THEY have the problem not you.

Try to become detatched from their emotion and ask why are they accusing you of this? Are they self projecting? Is there something deeper they feel about the relationship that they are not telling you?

It canbe very difficult to deal with an accusation such as this so it's important to stay as objective as you can, remain 'above' it as much as you can emotionally and understand it's their stuff not yours.

Perhaps addressing some deeper issues of that person may help.

Lets give this lady a break. Here sits this lady at home with a mental handicap. She's not that far gone and she feels guilty for not being able to do things that a normal woman can. She feels badly because she thinks she is holding her husband back from progress in his own life. If that isn't love then I don't know what is. It could be her medications doing this and making her paranoid. The best thing to do is see your doctor ALONE and discuss with him/her what is going on. Also go on the internet and check out the side effects of ANY medications your wife is on. Sometimes medications can be the culprit.

You sound like a fine man, and try to hang in there until you see your doctor and discuss this or check out the side effects of her medications. If you can't find it on the web go to:

You're a good husband and just love her, go for walks (if you can) keep telling her you love her and don't pay any attention to her complaints of you being unfaithful.

Poor lady...it must be so difficult for her. It must be difficult for you as well to have the love of your life believing you don't love her enough to stay faithful.

Perhaps (in addition to other good advice) a little bit of extra effort will gradually help her see you love her. Come home straight after work. Call her for a few minutes at lunch break. Spend your free time with her, look at old photos. Gradually, maybe she will be able to see that you love her and always have. Spending extra time with her will also show how you really don't have the time to be running off with other women.

Do you mean mentally handicapped or mentally ill? It seems that the two would be dealt with differently--perhaps consult a professional.

come on you guys give her a break, she may think that she isn't pretty anymore, or maybe it could me that her husband isn't making her feel as if she is pretty any more, she is still a woman and she still has feelings. she is simply going by the signs of cheating. she feels like she can't please her husband, so any woman would think that if they can't then please their husband then he will find someone to do so. just make her feel beautiful and don't forget that she is still a woman, show her affection. and this should clear it up

It depends on what this person believes you have done. And it depends on whether or not You believe You have done anything wrong. It may very well be that this wife has seen you chat with other women or view porn during your relationship with her and chances are You may not believe that this is wrong. So in that case, where does the blame lie. Its easy to say, "she doesn't do this" or what have you. We need ALL the details before making an educated opinion.
