How do you get your parents to give you something back?

Your parents will normally agree to things that you need if they can possibly afford them. Present the idea with logical reasons and then see. If it is what you want, it is an entirely different matter. It had to be legal, good for them (question on some concerts, activities) and so on. If it was putting them into a questionable circumstance, I would not go for it. The times I gave in would have been better not done--my first instincts were right. For other wants, I expected my children to have a plan to obtain this, including providing the money. If they needed money, there were always other chores I would pay them to do that were outside of their usual responsibilities. Driving them to get the item was an easy yes. Treat your parents with respect and be willing to accept a no without taking it personally.and say please or say you will tidy your room and up after yourself and if you don't want to tidy up get a piece of paper fold it in half and right inside it dear the greatest mum/dad ever please can i please have/make and whatever you want pretty pretty please with a gigantic cherry on top lots of love from ............ and right yes/no at the bottomit always works for me

Don't ask straight out, give them time. Be really well behaved and do what you are told. Do extra chores around the house, be cheerful when you are at home and around your parents. After a while of good behaviour ask for it back (but don't demand it) if they say no just say OK, they will have noticed your good behaviour and it will only be a matter of time before you get it back and don't continuously ask for it back it will only make them keep this thing away from you longer. After you get it back though don't go back to bad behaviour because your parents will know what works on you and take it away as quickly as you got it back. Hope this works.

Talk to them about the safety factor for kids having cellphones, then offer to get a part-time job, like a newspaper route, to pay the monthly charges (and stick to this promise).

If times are tough and your parents cannot afford to buy a cellphone, then perhaps they will chip in with other family members to get you one for Christmas or your birthday (or another special day that your family celebrates).

In any case, you need to promise to use it responsibly and not to run up ridiculous bills you cannot afford to pay. You must read the terms and conditions of the phone usage since phone companies are often less than forthcoming with their billing practices.

Above all, if the special day comes and you receive your new cell phone, you must always answer it when your parents call...no matter what!

Join something that requires you to be away from them for an amount of time ie. Camp, soccer, sport. Then tell them you are responsible and will pay for the actual phone.
