Turn on the oven function of the toaster oven and set the temp to about 375 degrees. Clean the sweet potato and poke some holes in it with a fork so the steam pressure doesn't cause it to explode. Put it in the toaster oven to cook for at least 20 minutes and then check it by poking it to see how soft or firm it is. It needs to be pretty soft so if it's not, put it back in for another 10 minutes and then check it again. Repeat until it reaches desired doneness.
I peel them, sprinkle them with the oil of my choice, sea/kosher salt and black pepper and I roast them at 200 for about 40 minutes. Sometimes I also sprinkle with pimentón (Spanish sweet paprika).
To bake a sweet potato, the oven needs to be preheated to at least 325 degrees. Potatoes are often baked along with other foods at various temperatures up to about 420 degrees F. The sweet potato only needs to be washed well, then pricked all over with a fork to allow steam to escape while baking. It may be brushed with butter or oil, but that is not necessary. Set the sweet potato directly on the oven rack, or in a greased pan, and bake until there is no resistance when pierced with a fork - depending on oven temperature and the size of the potato, that might be anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half. Sweet potatoes may also be baked in the microwave in the same way, but cooked on high power for 5 - 12 minutes, or more, depending on the size of the sweet potato.

84 small potatoes or 16 large.
It depends it might be 4-6 sweet potato because it depends on size.
Cut the potatoes into approx. 1 inch cube. If you do this they should only need to boil 15 minutes. If you have the pieces bigger, then it will take longer.
Yes, you can overcook a baked potato. But that doesn't necessarily ruin them. As potatoes lose water they become more dense and the flesh sweeter. Great for cubing and frying or putting in a green salad (as odd as that may sound).
If stored right sweet potatoes can last up to a month. The climate that the sweet potatoes are given is key because if they are able to get wet they rot very easily. You should store them in a cupboard that you usually do not store much else in and that is a cool temperature. Always wash your sweet potatoes and allow them to sufficiently air dry before storing them away. Do not store them in a very tight bag because all potatoes need to 'breath'. 6 months: Sweet Potatoes are Tubers. 1. Purchase Sweet Potatoes directly from the grower. 2. Size is important. 4 inches by 2 inches is ideal. (Small, firm potatoes) 3. Retain a light soil layer around skin (do not wash upon initial storage) 4. Do not stack Sweet Potatoes on one another. 5. Keep out of direct sunlight 6. Keep in area that is ventilated with minimal humidity (not too dry) Growers in the Carolinas store Sweet Potatoes 12+ months with ease!
Sweet potatoes grow best with compost and an organic potato food will increase their size. I start mine from sweet potatoes rooted in water in the winter. When the vines grow from the potatoes, I cut them off the tuber and root them in water. I then plant these rooted vines in the garden after all danger of frost is past and given about 100 days to grow, they will produce new sweet potatoes. The last month or so, do not water the potato vines and this will increase the size of the new tubers.
well! you need 6 cups to make 3 servings
The sooner the better, but if you're not going to cook them straight away you need to keep them completely covered with water in a pan otherwise they will go a yukky grey/brown colour where the air comes into contact with them..
as long as you can cook your good!
If you want a cabbage recipe that won't taste bitter, you will need to cook the cabbage for a long time, until all of the firmness has gone out of the leaves.
If baking in a conventional oven, the time is not changed whether cooking 1 or 12 potatoes - about 45 minutes at 400 degrees. Test for doneness by piercing with a fork, as smaller potatoes will be done more quickly. If baking in a microwave, you do need to add more time for additional potatoes. The timing will also be effected by the size of the potatoes, as well as the type of microwave itself. 12 large potatoes would fill up a standard microwave. I would begin with 20 minutes, testing the potatoes for doneness every minute after that.
Wash and rinse your potatoes, but do not dry them - this will be the moisture you need for the crockpot.Place potatoes (and any additional toppings you desire) into crockpot and cook on LOW for 6-7 hours (or on HIGH for 3.5-4 hours). Potatoes are done when you can easily insert a fork into the center.
