Do not soak the mushrooms in water. If you must wash them then run water over them and then gently dry. Pan frying them in butter is usually the best way to cook morels. Larger morels can also be stuffed.
Remember to NEVER eat morels raw. This can cause sickness in most people.

∙ 15y agoThe best way is to sautee mushrooms. Put a couple of tablespoons of butter or extra virgin olive oil in a skillet, and heat to medium. Slice the mushrooms into smaller piceces and add to the skillet with your favorite spices, or just salt and pepper. Keep the mushrooms moving so they don't burn, maybe five minutes, and remove. Garnish with parsley or your favorite herb, and enjoy. You can add these with chicken, or steak dishes, or anything that goes with mushrooms. Try them with vegetables, or just by themselves.
