In order to copy, select the text with which you wish to do so by clicking with the mouse and dragging across it until you've selected everything you wish to copy. After this, press CONTROL+C. Then, go to the window in which you wish to paste the information and press CONTROL+V.

I just tried this, as I wrote something much too long to post on a chronic pain site, BUT IT DIDN'T WORK. I was able to highlight my text, and hit CTRL-C, but NOTHING HAPPENED. and I am unable to post this in one window, pull up another one.
