Are you referring to the the worn washed look. There are several techniques. The simplest is to use a white coat and let dry for a couple days and then go back and lightly sand a few spots like edges here and there and maybe scuff a couple spots or a corner. The idea is to make it look like natural wear. Then finish with a clear coat for protection.
Another technique is just using a white wash which is not really a paint, you would have to ask an expert how to get this effect, I'm not sure.

You can paint it. Then distress the paint by marking it or scrapping it. Rub wax on areas you want to look worn so when you paint it the paint won't take in those areas. Full instructions in my attached blog with photo examples
