Plantar warts can be removed in a couple of ways. You can obtain an anti-viral cream from your drug store, or for long standing warts, they can be removed by freezing them off, then allowing the wart to just drop off.

Some remedies to remove plantar warts include the use of cryotherapy, laser treatments, surgery, and immunotherapy. Also, home remedies such as using Duct Tape, salicylic acid, and vinegar can work as well.

Plantar warts are a virus. It's important to keep your feet clean even if you have a foot bath to soften the area. You can see a foot specialist and have them removed or, use duct tape and put directly over the plantar wart (keeps the air out) and leave on for 3 - 4 days and then soak your feet and remove excess skin and repeat until the core of the plantar wart is removed. It was believed at one time that people with plantar warts to reinfect themselves by wearing the same shoes or socks they did while having the plantar warts, but, many doctors don't seem to agree with this old fashioned adage, but I believe in it. Having a plantar wart on the ball of your foot (where they usually are) is like having a pebble in your shoe and can be very painful. Plantar Warts generally appear on your feet, bottom of your foot, in between toes, on the bottom of toes, you name it, but a wart under a toenail is no plantar wart, it's a disease called Osteo Chondroma, I had it, the only way to remove an Osteo Chondroma "wart" is to get surgery on it, but to eradicate a plantar wart, you can freeze it, medication, surgery, a whole broad of things to do.

You can get them frozen off using Liquid Nitrogen.

Usually freezing it works, but if that doesn't work you could literally sterilize a pocket knife and cut it out. I would recommend a dermatologists opinion though.
