The Xbox ARCADE is a normal xbox with an extra game but without an HDD, so yes, you could buy a 60gb HDD for your "arcade 360". (I assume that you are talking about the Xbox 360 arcade, which replaced the Xbox 360 core.) If im off in someway, please edit or delete my post.
Turning Xbox 360 OffTo turn off an Xbox 360 off hit the power button or if you have a controller scroll right and at the bottom it should say 'turn of Xbox 360'

Well, you can delete your Xbox Live profile off your Xbox, but it is not possible to delete the Gamertag that you registered with Xbox Live. In the Account Management area, you can remove your credit card if you are using one, but you cannot take away the Gold Membership associated with your account (if you have gold, that is) Source: (I have an Xbox 360)
The only way to restart an online profile is to make a new XBox Live profile. Deleting the memory off of the harddrive will only delete private match profiles.
