The good way is to borrow or construct a coil of wire large enough to allow the magnetic object to pass through. Energise the coil with standard house current - 50 Hz or 60 Hz according to where you live. You won't necessarily be able to put the full 115V / 230V (according to your country). A step-down transformer may be required; if you can borrow a Variac it gets much easier.

When the coil is properly energised, pass your magnetic object through the coil slowly. As it exits the far side keep it moving steadily until it is far from the coil. Switch off and test for any remanent magnetism. If necessary, repeat the process.

Note. Some magnetic materials are tenacious; in general harder materials like tool steel or ceramic are the hardest magnetically as well. You can try annealing the material, providing that won't ruin the object for its intended use; not a good idea to anneal a wrench until it is dead soft!

PS If you don't understand electricity, get help from someone who does.

What is magnetic object?

a magnetic object are those affected by magnetic field and are attracted to it.

What does atoms have that make an object magnetic?

Magnetic fields are the reason why atoms make an object magnetic.

The area around an object that is affected by the magnetism of that object is the?

A Magnetic Force

How you can demagnetize materials?

A magnet has magnetic properties because the dipoles of the atoms are lined up in a single direction. To demagnetize it, you must scramble the dipoles out of alignment. First, heat the magnet past the Curie point (the temperature at which it loses its magnetic properties until cooled). Strike it on the ends of the magnet with a hammer. When cooled, it will no longer be magnetized.

What is the difference between hard and soft magnetic materials?

Materials which retain their magnetism and are difficult to demagnetize are called hard magnetic materials. These materials retain their magnetism even after the removal of the applied magnetic field. Hence these materials are used for making permanent magnets. In permanent magnets the movement of the domain wall is prevented. They are prepared by heating the magnetic materials to the required temperature and then quenching them. Impurities increase the strength of hard magnetic materials. Soft magnetic materials are easy to magnetize and demagnetize. These materials are used for making temporary magnets. The domain wall movement is easy. Hence they are easy to magnetize. By annealing the cold worked material, the dislocation density is reduced and the domain wall movement is made easier. Soft magnetic materials should not possess any void and its structure should be homogeneous so that the materials are not affected by impurities.

Why some iron object magnetic and other not magnetic?

If the iron atoms are aligned then the object is magnetic, if they are randomly oriented then it is not. How the object was manufactured may be the cause of the difference, but it always possible to intentionally either magnetize OR demagnetize an object.

How do you use demagnetize in a sentence?

"It is best to demagnetize metal objects before using them around magnetic tape drives." "Heat tends to demagnetize ferrous minerals."

What does demagnetize mean?

It means to make something not magnetic anymore

Will exposing a magnet to a DC magnetic field demagnetize it?

Obviously no.

A good way to demagnetize something is to?

De-magnetization refers to the removal of magnetic properties from an object. One way to de-magnetize something is to heat the object.

How can you demagnetize gold?

Bring it to me. I will do my "special technique" to demagnetize it. You know, sell it and not give you any of the money. Gold isn't magnetic, so if you got some that IS it's got iron in it.

it is very unlikey that will happen but it will probbly be because of a magnetic feld caused by the phone signal

They add carbon, but it's still magnetic afterward, just not as much.

What is the idea behind magnetic particle inspection?

Magnetic particle inspection is a very new idea used in debit cards. They are now in the strip of the cards and do not demagnetize over time, as opposed to standard magnetic strips.
