The only way to really know if you have endometriosis is by having laparoscopic surgery. In the surgery, there is a camera that is put through a small incision by your belly button. The camera will show if there is endometrial tissue growing in areas that it should not be. However, there are some symptoms that will indicate the possibility of endometriosis without a laparoscopy. These may include, and are not limited to: irregular periods, bleeding in between periods, pain in the abdomen area, difficulty conceiving, vomiting, nausea, and diarrhea. There are many women that never have any symptoms at all. So if you suspect you may have it, visit your OB GYN to discuss your concerns.
