I am currently having to deal with a bad head gasket on my 2002 venture. One way of determening if the head gasket is bad is oil color on dip stick. If its light brown kind of milky, Gone head gasket. If you are having over heating problems, you are going to run in to head gasket problems FOR SURE. 3.4 known for bad #1 cylinder head gasket going bad. Something to do with the Dex-cool. Save yourself alot of time and do the head gaskets. M. stranger sanchez
$800-$900 at a shop. i just had it done in wilmington nc
I found an independant mechanic, who works out of his own building on a farm, who does this for about $375
What gasket?
No
extremely difficult without removing the engine. i have seen some drop the engine down about a foot by disconnecting the motor and transmission mounts & did not disconnect alot of lines and were able to change the intake gasket.
Just had it done on my 1998 Venture - It cost about 900.00
there is no lower intake gasket, only a front and rear gasket
Elmo is cool
By replacing the whole gasket.
Take it to a repair shop and have them do a block test to determine if you have a blown head gasket.
Yes there are sealers out there that can be used to seal or repair the gasket
You need to have a shop do a block test to truly determine if you do have a blown head gasket. If you do it is best to do both as they have the same amount of wear on them.
