Call the company (Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, etc) and ask them to block your phone. Or go the their kiosk in the mall and ask them to have your number blocked.

Contact your cell phone company.
you fish head you call your network service and tell then to block your phone
Contact your phone company. They can 'electronically' block the phone from being used by the thief.
Only the service provider can reverse the block they're set on the phone. And they can only do that if the owner of the phone call them and inform that the their phone is back with them.
You may not be able to track a lost or stolen phone but you can have it blocked. Simply call your service provider, report is as stolen and have them block the phone. This would render the phone useless unless it will be reported back to the service provider by the original owner of the phone that it's been found or returned.
That depends on what the phone company does on being told it's stolen. If they simply disconnect the phone from their network - it's possible for it to be used on another network. HOWEVER - if they block the IMEI number (which is unique to EVERY mobile device) - the phone cannot be used on ANY network - nor can it be unlocked, or the block removed.
You don't block the SIM - you block the handset - by contacting your service provider. Explain to them your phone has been stolen, and ask them to block your handset. Blocking the handset means that no matter how many SIM cards are inserted - none will work.
Tell The police or call your service provider and give them your imei number this can be found on your phone box or press *#06#
Nope - once a phone's been blocked via the IMEI number - it's permanently useless !

how to locate exact location of my stolen cell phone
Whenever you activate a phone the company requires your serial number from the phone. All you have to do is call the company and report the phone as stolen. When someone else tries to activate it they won't be able to. It will have a block on it. But there is something that can be downloaded to your phone. It is called Microtechnologies software. With the software you will be able to track your phone anywhere.
If you have a "stolen" phone, then return it or mail it back to the owner.
