How do you disable the automatic daytime running light on a 99 Suburban?

[Edit]

If you look by the actuator for the parking brake you can see how that switch works. You can splice into the wires and add your own switch. I've thought about doing this myself, just haven't do so yet. Answer

I can offer up how my 1997 works. Its really goofy. For my 97, you have to partially depress the foot actuated parking brake. I don't think there is a way to disable them while driving. . .

Answer

If you want to "permanently" disable them, find the fuse labled DRL and pull it. It should be in the fuse panel under the hood near the PCM. To reactivate them, reinsert the fuse in the DRL slot.
