Check On The Left Side Of The Block For The Casting Numbers Near The Back Freeze Plug. If It Is A 302 It Will Read One Of These C80E-A , C8TE-B . C9TE-C . D10E-AA. If A Small Block 351+++++++ C90E-B . D2AE-BA . D4AE-AA. D4AE-DA. The 289 I Think Was Last Made In The Late Sixties 68, 69. The 302 Last Made In 81, 82. Checvk These Numbers And See If It Helps. Good Luck

answer depending what country you are in they still make 302 blcoks and in usa the 302 was still being made all the way up to 92
