If you have a membership at ancestry.com, you can upgrade your membership to a World membership. This will give you access to resources world wide. If not, you could still post a query on one or some of the many genealogy message boards found on the Internet, such as Genforum.
If on-line resources do not give the results you are looking for, Cyndi's List (www.cyndislist.com) is an excellent resource for finding information on addresses and locations where you can find information and documentation. If you don't speak German, you may need to locate an interpreter, or at least a list of translated terms such as birth, death, marriage, etc.
If you are looking for information on events that occurred more than 100 years ago, you need to remember that countries and locations change names. For example, your German ancestors may have come from Baden, or Darmstadt. This information would be helpful in determining which region of what is now Germany your ancestors lived in.
