What I do is say random things at weird times for example: One day my two best friends were fighting then when they were yelling at each other (you know that is kind of awkward) so i yelled i like marshmallows and they stopped yelling at each other and stared at me then we started laughing but that usually works for me most of the time not just when people are fighting: so just come up with something random to say.
