the short answer: No! the long answer: It depends on how you install IE 8 YOu can keep a backup copy of IE 7 in case you do not like IE 8. But you will not be able to use them at the same time....
You would have to uninstall IE 9, and install IE8. People rarely want to install older versions of software though, so you might have problems with compatibility issues.
Do a system restore. You could also keep using IE 8 in compatibility mode. And make sure that for real internet browsing you're using Firefox.
