Open the App Store and Click on the Update tab on the bottom right. This will update all the apps installed. In order to update your IOS operating system, sync your iPad with your computer in iTunes. If your computer is online, it will inform you if an updated system is available for your iPad.

The same way for any other apple device. Make sure itunes is installed on your computer which it should be as it is required to set up the Ipad in the first place if you don't have itunes you can download it - check the link.

After downloading itunes connect your Ipad2/any other apple device to your computer using the povided cable. The cable is also used for charging your device being plugged into and adapter for the wall. Unplug it from the adapter and connect it to the USB port on your computer. Itunes should automatically detect the device and begin syncing. If you are updating your IOS version I would highly suggest letting it sync as it will need the backup to restore your ipad's data after you update. Click on your device's name on the left side menu which lists all your libraries and other info, then it will have a button on the viewing portion of itunes which says update. Select that and it will guide you through the rest.

If the iPad is running iOS 5 or later you can update it in the settings app on the iPhone. If it is running anything earlier than this, you need to hook it up to the computer, sync it, and then select update.
