If you have your iPod set to manually manage the content, you can click and drag the file to the iPod icon in the iTunes window. But if you have the iTunes 9 program, there is a option called "Autofill." To do this, hook your iPod to the computer. Then when iTunes recognizes your iPod, go to the music tab. At the bottom, click the Autofill button and then all the song will automatically download onto your iPod.

first, you have to go onto your computer and download a program called "tune-aid"... that program allows you to take all of the music off of your ipod, and onto your itunes. Then from there, you can put the music you transfered from tune-aid, onto your ipod touch. or any other device you want.. :)
You don't have to download songs onto your iPod, but that is half of what the iPod was made for.
