Firstly try switching it off then on again and it should empty. If it does not then the likelyhood is that water has leaked into the 'sump' (the base of the machine where there is a float switch which cuts operation for safety.) Either tilt the machine backwards / forwards about 45 degrees - some small volume of water should escape - or remove the side panel and 'mop' it out. In either event, switch off the electricity first ! - Good luck

Why does my 950 series frigidaire dishwasher stay in wash cycle and make a clicking noise and does not go in to rinse cycle? ANS 2 - The timer is faulty. It's unlikely you can fix the timer, but not too difficult to fit a new one. ( only cost -effective if the dishwasher is a really good and almost new one. )
Check the holes in the wash arm. Some of the holes target the soap dispenser to release the detergent. Clear any debris that may clog the holes. Do not block the dispenser while loading.
It opens in the wash cycle, after the tub has filled, and agitation has begun, the water filling the tub is routed thrrough the dispenser to wash out the detergent.Answer:Many (most?) dishwashers have two wash cycles. The soap dumps immediately into the first and the second it released into the second wash cycle.
