How do you fertilize gardenias?

there's a special kind of liquid fertiliser in shops like Bunnings warehouse that fertilises sand. I use it alot in the garden and it works really well.

G. gummifera: digestive problems, dyspepsia and diarrhea, nervous conditions and spasms. G. storckii: constipation.
