This information isn't entirely correct. Gameboy Advance games were made (obviously) after Gameboy Color games were. This being said, the technology to trade between emerald/ruby/sapphire/firered/leafgreen and red/blue/yellow/gold/silver/crystal did not exist. You can find some, if not most, of the Pokemon between the e/r/s/fr/lg games, but you don't have access to island number 8 or 9 without going to the Nintendo events. This means that Lugia and Ho-oh cannot be caught without finding ANOTHER clan of geeks, which is nearly impossible for the GBA games, seeing as the majority are DS-junkies.
