Check newspaper archives from the area where the person died. Or you can try the Social Security Death Index if you have the person's social security #.

You have to say what particular Norman Ward you are looking for. There are many people with that name. Also, did the person recently die or is he an historical figure?

There is no obituary archive as such. Individual newspapers will keep records of obituaries they have published.
