How do you find your IP address and subnet mask? |
[Edit]
Answer
1- Click on the connection icon in the tray bar (next to the clock) A new window will appear. Go to the "Details" tab, Your IP Address is the "Client IP Address". And you can see the subnet mask if you are a part of a domain
2- Open a new Command Prompt window (Start==>Run==>"cmd") Type "ipconfig" and hit the enter button. You'll get one or more connections. The ones with weird looking IP addresses (MACs) are interface cards (hardware)
Answer
If you are behind a proxy or local gateway you will not find your IP with "cmd". Go to website ip.nf (see related links below) and you will see your IP.
